Day 2 – Gardens, Gondolas, and Grub in Portland, Oregon

This morning, I got up around 5:30am and probably woke everyone else up from there. We kind of chilled in our room until 8:30am, and then we went to a cafe for breakfast. I had a chocolate croissant with hot chocolate. We ate with all of the high school kids.

Then we went on the gondola ride. When I was at the top, I flew my drone. We could see Mt. St. Helen’s and Mt. Hood from the viewpoint. And then we went back down.

After the gondola rides, we went to the Japanese Gardens. At the gardens, we saw giant koi fish that were the size of my leg. We also saw waterfalls. By that time, the day was really hot, so Mamafer, Kate, and I went to get some shaved ice. I got blue raspberry with condensed milk, because I wanted to try it. Now I know I don’t like condensed milk. But, besides that, it was really great.

We walked through the rose garden and Washington Park, and we were going to meet up with the other high school kids. We finally found them when we got to the ice cream shop, Salt & Straw, where I got a brownie ice cream. It was great and tasted very homemade.

By this point, Kate and I were exhausted, so Mama took us back to the hotel while Mommy took the high school kids to Powell’s, where she picked up another book for me from a series I like.

After we chilled, we went to get some dinner.  We went to these food trucks, and the food was delicious. I had beef bulgogi with rice. We also got to meet my mom’s former student, Cynthia, who lives in Portland now. I would rate today a 7.5 out of 10.
