The Search for the Perfect Clams

Boris and Jane made it up to us yesterday! We are getting ready for a fun trip to Canada. Sadly enough, I have never actually been to Canada despite its proximity for my entire 31 years. Heck, I have been to Niagara Falls three times and I still haven’t made it to the other side of the border! I think Boris and Jane are taking pity upon me and have decided to help rectify the situation.

However, before we embark on our journey, it was vitally important that we drive about a half hour to Ipswich, MA and dine at the Clam Box. (Another place I have never been…) Boris and I both saw the same PBS documentary “Unsual Buildings & Other Roadside Attractions” which sparked our interest in the Clam Box. It’s a small seafood shack that”s shaped like the takout box they put the clams in. Yes, very exciting stuff. The food was actually fabulous, and even though they don”t serve alcohol, they let us bring in our own beer. (A lovely local brew – Ipswich Pale Summer Ale – that we picked up on the way.) We all had clams, and even though I was nearly bursting by the end of dinner, it was well worth it!!!

So tomorrow we are off to Canada! Finally, I won’t be so lame…
