Day 14 – Granada to Barcelona, Spain
Today was calm and relaxing. Okay, maybe not every day I’ll have a croissant for breakfast, but probably most of the time. For breakfast, I had flan and a strawberry-banana yogurt drink. After breakfast, we packed our bags to prepare for the six-hour train ride to Barcelona! While we were waiting to leave, I played Yahtzee with Mama. Then I suddenly realized that we had extra time in Granada when we dropped off our luggage to be stored for the afternoon.
We first visited the Catedral de Granada, built in the 1200s! There was a fantastic organ and ancient Latin writing on old handwritten music pages. We spent about 30 minutes wandering through the church.
After the Cathedral, we had lunch, and I ate Patatas Bravas and drank iced tea. It tasted so delicious. That is my favorite tapas so far.
We visited the University of Granada’s Botanical Gardens after lunch. There were two stray cats there – they were so cute! We saw so many interesting plants and flowers that we don’t have back home.
Then Mom, Priscilla, Addie, and I went shopping while Evan and Mama sat down and played games. After shopping for approximately 0.42 seconds, we went to the train station and got onto the train.
We are in first class, which is my first time being first class in anything. On the train ride, I played more Yahtzee with Mama and card games with Mom using a deck of cards I won at school.
The views from the train are gorgeous – there are gigantic mountains and more trees than I could count. We got to watch the sunset from the train windows. I am even writing my blog post on the train!

Katelyn, you look like a reporter on the train hard at work as you travel. I love to read your perspective and the things you find important. Wish I could see the Botanical Garden. Did you get to hear the organ?
