Day 13 – Granada, Spain
Today was full of adventures. I woke up, and Evan was the only one awake. It was 8:00am in Spain. I watched YouTube with Evan until 10:00am. I also had two mini lollipops.
Not much time later, we all had breakfast. For breakfast, I had yet another croissant. Who would’ve guessed? You may be wondering if I’m ever going to have anything different than a croissant for breakfast. The answer to that is probably not.
After breakfast, we took a tour of many different palaces at a place called La Alhambra. It was originally a fortress built in the 1200s by Muslim people. The palaces were beautiful and mostly filled with running water, flowers, carved old stone, and fabulous views. The tour was 4km of walking, which equals about two miles. My feet hurt since all I wore for shoes were mint-green crocs. On top of that, the weather was hot, but the tour was still full of beautiful sights.
After the tour, we went home, and I had a couple licks of a mini lollipop before we had lunch. For lunch, I had a cauliflower and white chocolate croquet and some of Mama’s Spanish omelet. For dessert, I had a chocolate coulant and ice cream. (It’s like a very fancy lava cake filled with chocolate.) Once I was full, I returned to the Airbnb and took a break from all the walking.
In the evening, we went to a tea house. The tea house had colorful, fancy wallpaper and intricate silver tea sets. I drank vanilla tea from a small green and clear glass. It tasted delicious!
After the tea house, Mama bought me a dyed geode that was black on the outside and purple and green metallic on the inside. When I saw the crystal, I was shocked at how vibrant the colors were.
Then we took a taxi to St. Nicolas Square to see the sunset on La Alhambra. It was gorgeous. You could see practically the entire city and the mountains in the background.
We meandered down the cobblestone streets to dinner. The food was Moroccan, and the interior design was very exquisite. Our table was tucked into a little alcove. I was full from the tea, so I didn’t eat much, but what I had was tasty!
After dinner, we walked home. It was so late – 11:30pm in Spain!
