Meet me in St. Louis, Louie!

Our hotel room in St. Louis, MO.

The view from our hotel room…

We arrived in St. Louis this afternoon, and went straight to our hotel. Priceline.com came to the rescue once again! For $50 we had an arch view, and we were literally across the street from the monument. We also got vouchers for free coffee from the Starbucks located in the hotel. I was elated.

After feeding Addison, we decided to explore our surroundings. Even though it was 7:30pm, the heat was almost unbearable. The actual temperature was 99 degrees, but the humidity made it feel about 10 degrees hotter. We managed to find an awesome way to cool off – City Garden, which was just four blocks from the hotel. Every citCitygarden in St. Louis, MO.y needs a space like City Garden – filled with beautiful flowers and greens, with sculptures sprinkled throughout the space, it was clearly a spot cherished by the locals. Kids climbed on the sculptures and ran through the water fountains, while couples strolled through the paths between the flowers. It was incredible. Addison loved playing in the water.

We didn’t stay out too late – we want to be up early tomorrow so we can ride to the top of the arch!

The picture of The Arch is magical. It will be interesting how you photograph the flat miles (fields) of Kansas. I can’t wait. You know, you passed over twenty Norton vineyards heading out of St. Louis and missed another twelve in Kansas City, MO. Oh well, it all is in your life’s priorities. Tell Addison to stay cool.

The arch at night behind the capitol… and the light as if it were a sun ray beside the trees. Your photography is fabulous, Jen. You are being creative in the heat!
